email them to me.  I may not know the best answers, but the questions will help me focus the discussion on this page. -- AWM

X-24 Bug The X-24 Bug is a cone-shaped rocket that can be scratch built for under $1.  About 200 of these were biult at 2008 Buckeye District Daycamp.  It can be an erratic flyer -- when you fly it, make sure you have plenty of room.  It seems to fly best on C6-3 and C6-5 engines.  It "should" fly ok with A and B class engines, but I have not had good experience with the smaller engines.

If you decide to use this model, make sure you build and fly several examples so you're familiar with its quirks.

See http://www.oldrocketplans.com/quest/que2008/que2008.htm for a variation of this model.

Safety Disclaimer

Model rockets activities in Scouting are described in the Webelos handbook and in the Space Exploration Merit Badge Handbook. While very effort has been made to provide accurate information as part of these model rocket discussions, the maintainers of Worthington Scouts cannot be held responsible for your rocket launching activities. In particular, it is your responsibility to carry out any necessary risk assessments and to implement appropriate safety measures.
