Friends
of Scoutingis Buckeye District and Simon
Kenton Council's fundraising campaign to help finance Council
facilities like Camp Lazarus or Camp Falling Rock. Friends of Scouting also
helps provide the supporting services that make events like Daycamp, the Shooteree, and Boy Scout Camporees
possible.
In the four years that my children have been involved with scouting,
they have made friends, gone caving, learned to shoot with a nationally
competative marksman, built rockets, camped with and without their
parents, gotten wet and dirty, gotten wet and dirty by accident, flown
in an airplane, welded paperclips with an industrial laser, have taken
canoe trips, and been worshiped by 8 year-olds while serving as
residence camp staff. I know of no other
activity
that offers the breadth of experience that scouting offers my children.
All of the scouting events described on this website are run by scout
volunteers. If you or one of your children have participated
in these events and enjoyed the experience, you can recognize the
efforts of these volunteers by making a contribution to Friends of Scouting.
Print
