Attention all  5th grade Webelo Leaders. Please be making plans to bring your 5th grade Webelos and parents to the 5th Annual 5th grade Webelos Campout with the Troops of Worthington. The camp out will take place on September 20 & 21 in the Outpost Field at Camp Lazarus. If you get lost, contact Chris Morris on his cellular at 314-1207.

Check-in will begin Saturday at 8:15am and end at 8:45am. Webelos and their parents need to bring their own camping equipment (if they don't have any have them contact me at the # above), lawn chairs, food for lunch, dinner and a snack for Saturday and breakfast Sunday. The Campout will end on Sunday following morning vespers.(approx.9:30am).

Webelos will be visiting 14 stations though out the day. Last year the stations included Fire safety and starting, knife and Ax safety, Tent setup, Outdoor cooking, Map and Compass, Knots and Lashings, Wildness Survival, Team Building, 1st Aid and Plant and Wildlife identification. Each station will be taught by Boy Scouts from the Worthington Troops. While the Webelos visit each station the parents will be meeting with the Adult leaders of each of the Worthington Troops.

Webelos need to register for this event prior to 9/19. You can register by sending a email to Chris_morris@wowway.com or by calling Chris Morris at 314-1207.

THERE IS NO COST FOR THIS CAMP OUT. IT IS SPONSORED BY TROOP 123, 156, 243, 268, 332, 365, and 862.

Webelos need to bring their own tent and sleeping bag. Food for lunch on Saturday and Breakfast Sunday morning. Dinner will be provide Saturday night. Webelo dens need to prepare a song or skit for the Saturday night camp fire. If you know your song or skit, email it to Chris Morris ahead of time. Please email the list of scouts attending the campout no later than Saturday 13th

Note:  Chapman Road may only be open to local traffic.  Don't worry -- the road is open to the West Entrance.


The Worthington Webelos Overnight will be held in the West Activity Field Area, turn onto Winter St. from Rt. 23.  Take Winter St. till it ends at Chapman Rd.  Turn right on to Chapman Rd. and look for the stone pillars on your right by the creek for the entrance to either area.

Warm up your GPS receivers,  Troop 156 will also be doing a geocaching activity as part of the program activities.
